In-Depth psychoTherapy and Couples Counseling in the San Francisco Bay Area, los angeles, and throughout California

Life’s tender and overwhelming moments can become powerful turning points.

You don’t need to rush here.
You don’t need to have the right words.
You’re welcome to slow down,
to breathe,
to arrive just as you are.

This is a place where there is room for your inner life,
for what feels tender, unformed, or waiting to be heard.
You are welcome here.

Many people arrive here carrying something that has become heavy to hold alone.
It might be grief, fear, sadness, or a sense of loss.
It might be something harder to name.

Sometimes there has been a rupture or a change.
Sometimes what is painful or confusing is happening within a relationship that matters deeply.
Sometimes it is the quiet accumulation of strain over time.

You don’t need to be certain about what’s happening to begin.
If something in you is asking for attention, care, or understanding, that is enough.

I’m Kristin Young, a licensed psychotherapist with over two decades of experience working with individuals and couples.
I have had the privilege of sitting with people across many seasons of life and many forms of difficulty. What draws me to this work, and what continues to guide me, is a deep respect for the inner life and for the ways people find their way back to themselves through engaged presence, compassion, and attunement.

In our work together, I’m not here to tell you who to be or to push you toward change. I’m here to accompany you, to listen closely, and to help you engage with and understand yourself more fully, supporting you in becoming more aware of and trusting your authentic self. I trust the process of therapy, and I trust the wisdom that emerges when we slow down and attend to what is actually happening, both within you and, at times, between you and someone you care about.

Who this work is for

This work tends to resonate with people who feel something inside asking for more honesty, more aliveness, or more alignment with what matters to them.

You may be moving through a season that feels tender, confusing, or quietly overwhelming. Something may no longer fit the way it once did, even if you can’t yet name what wants to change. You might feel drawn to slow down and listen more closely so something essential can be heard. You sense that meaningful change begins with being met right where you are.

This work can be especially supportive if you’re longing for a space where you don’t have to perform, explain, or justify your experience, and where depth, care, and thoughtful attention are valued, including attention to the relational spaces where meaning and pain often live.
